Square Dancing

Hello,

I am looking for volunteers who know how to square dance and can help me teach our students the proper way to do so.  Please email me at mrubino@archwayarete.org.

Thank you!

The Waltz

I am glad to announce that "The Waltz", turned out to be a success.  It wasn't as hard for the boys as they imagined.  We had a wonderful time learning this classical dance.  I am so glad we got through it successfully!

4th and 5th Grade Classes

Dear Families,

Due to AZ Merit testing in the gym on the Prep side, PE for 4th and 5th grade classes will be outside for the next five weeks.  It is extremely important for them to bring water bottles, sun screen (or apply before school) and a hat if needed.

Thank you for helping me out on this!

Best,

Coach Rubino

Kickball then Baseball!

Hello Chargers!

We will begin a short kickball unit describing the rules and necessary steps in playing a full kickball game. Kickball helps students understand the rules and plays in a baseball game, so that's why I always begin with this sport first.

We will learn:
How to run the bases
How to catch and throw a kickball/baseball
How many outs are in an inning
How many innings we play in a game
Top of the inning and bottom of the inning
Forced outs

There is much more to this and I am excited to get started on Monday!

Soccer Unit

Our Archway Arete students are in their soccer unit right now and having so much fun!

We started with kicking, shooting, dribbling and passing.  We will begin our soccer tournament soon where the students will know the rules of soccer and have great sportsmanship.

I hope that they can get out and watch a middle school or high school soccer game and support our Arete Chargers!!

Scooters!

Who doesn't love scooters?  I know your all jealous parents, but the children really love them too!

We have lots of fun activities planned with the scooters, such as races, team building and scavenger hunts.

I really hope your child loves this unit!

Finishing Basketball!

P.E. has been a lot of fun this past week, while the students have been scrimmaging in a 5V5 basketball game.  They have learned a lot of skills in bball and know lots of different rules of the game.  I really hoped they enjoyed this unit!
